One Emblem

For any place that offers a local cultural experience

€400 for one Emblem, with a local artist, €250 with your own artwork, paid once.

Then €600 a year from launch, whatever the number of visitors.

Pay once to create, then a yearly fee

Visitors collect your passport for free.

A partner Emblem in an existing passport (Partner Experience) or several passports and partners (Destination Network): priced on request.

Prices exclude VAT. Visitors a year means overnight stays for destinations and admissions for museums. Production and the yearly fee are invoiced separately, so each can go to the right budget line.

A challenge, a Coin reward or a lucky surprise?

These formats serve different goals. Choose a reward your organisation can honour, then define its eligibility, availability and redemption process with Emblem.

Reward configuration is managed with Emblem and depends on the supported rollout. The organisation supplies and honours its agreed benefits; reward terms must be ready before launch.

Your place can open the door to other places

Join Emblem’s network of places and creators through an agreed project. A shared cultural journey can connect organisations that visitors might otherwise discover separately.

Partner participation and marketing commitments are agreed individually. Emblem does not promise a fixed audience, advertising reach or automatic access to another partner’s customer data.

Measure the experience, respect the visitor

Agree a useful report before launch. Reporting uses measured activity from your project and the reporting period, with aggregate insights appropriate to its scope.

Following is voluntary. Project reporting is not a customer CRM or a feed of identifiable visitors’ movement history; marketing permissions and any additional data use require their own agreed basis.

Visitors go further

Your passport guides people from the landmark they came for to the places they would have missed.

Every place tells its story

Each Emblem opens the story of its place, in the visitor's own language.

New places get noticed

A new venue, a reopening or an exhibition gets its own Emblem, so people come to see it.

Proof they were there

Each Emblem is collected at the real place: by GPS, or by GPS and a QR code on site.

A souvenir that lasts

No stock and no shipping. It stays in the visitor's collection after the trip.

Local artists, credited

Every Emblem is an original artwork, credited to the creator who made it.

22 languages

Your passport speaks your visitors' languages, from Arabic to Japanese.

Reports, not tracking

You see collections and rewards in aggregate, never who your visitors are.

Rewards that bring visitors back

A reward gives people a reason to keep collecting, and you decide where that takes them: beyond the landmark everyone knows, to the places they would otherwise walk past.

Partner rewards

Collectors earn Coins as they explore. Your reward asks for a set number of your Emblems, so people visit several of your places before they unlock it: a tasting, a ticket or a discount. One per account, while stock lasts.

Lucky Emblems

During a campaign, collecting a Lucky Emblem gives one chance at a limited reward. Each place can have its own chances: lower at the landmark everyone already visits, higher at the places you want people to discover. A surprise, never a promise.

What would your own app cost?

Agency price guides put a mid-size app at €40,000–€120,000 and a complex one above €100,000, plus 15–20 % of the build every year. In recent EU public tenders, the tourism boards visitBerlin and IDM Südtirol awarded new visitor apps for €176,000 and €180,000, and Versailles estimated €200,000 for four years of maintenance and updates to its app and website.

Challenge: achieve a goal

Use collection requirements to guide a journey. A qualifying visitor can unlock the displayed reward while it is available.

Clear requirements, availability and redemption conditions; completion is different from a chance-based prize.

Coins: choose an eligible offer

Where enabled, offer a benefit at a displayed Coin cost. A visit, workshop, discount or other benefit can be discussed if your team can deliver it.

Coin balance alone may not be enough: extra eligibility, dates, stock and offer conditions can apply.

Lucky: a chance to receive a reward

An eligible collection can provide one attempt per account in an active Lucky campaign. This creates a surprise around the souvenir without promising a win.

Campaign rules, odds, eligibility and stock govern the outcome. Rewards are never guaranteed.

Bring Emblem into a cooperation project

For NGOs, municipalities, cultural organisations, universities and project coordinators: discuss how a Cultural Passport could support local storytelling, youth participation, heritage interpretation or exchange between places.

You can approach Emblem with an existing project or explore the Digital World Expo proposal: a network of locally authored Cultural Passports. That proposal is in partner development; it is not an awarded European grant or a confirmed consortium. Participation, eligibility and the appropriate contractual role must be checked for each call.

A project coordinator can lead the wider programme while Emblem contributes the agreed digital experience and implementation. Each local partner helps shape its own stories and participation activities.

Your profile brings the whole experience together

Give visitors a recognisable place to find your stories, collections and next chapter, alongside other organisations and creators in the app.

Example app profile: Bernard-Massard. Your profile’s content and available sections depend on the agreed setup.

Quick answers
Can we start with just one digital souvenir?
Yes. One agreed place or event can be a focused first project. A passport, new edition or additional partner can be scoped later rather than including every feature at launch.
Do we need to build our own app?
No. Visitors use the Emblem app and an account to collect. The app download is free; selected passports or other offers can have separate access or purchase conditions.
Can we use our existing art and stories?
Bring them to the discovery discussion. Emblem reviews the creative fit and required permissions, credits and usage rights with you, and can coordinate approved creators for new work.
Can visitors give an Emblem to someone else?
Eligible gift editions can be sent where gifting is enabled. A gift is separate from the original on-site collection and does not advance the recipient’s passport or unlock rewards. A gift can include a personal letter and a scheduled delivery date: on Android now, and on iPhone from app version 1.6.67.
Can several organisations share a route and its marketing?
Yes, a multi-partner project can be scoped around a shared theme. Partners agree locations, content, responsibilities and communications. Reach is not guaranteed, and one partner’s customer data is not automatically shared with another.
Is European funding already secured?
No European grant award is being claimed for the Digital World Expo proposal. It is a partnership-development concept. Any application, partner eligibility, budget and timetable must follow the relevant published call. A commercial project can be scoped separately with its own financing.
What happens if a grant is delayed or refused?
Grant-dependent production should not start automatically. The parties need to agree whether to revise, defer or stop, and who bears any preparation costs. Reimbursement by a future grant is not promised. These arrangements belong in the written project agreement.
Can we add events, titles or new chapters later?
Yes, supported additions can be scoped with Emblem. Collection dates, editions and supported achievement requirements make it possible to plan a continuing programme; updates, creative work and ongoing support are agreed separately.
What information do we receive about visitors?
The agreed report can provide aggregate measured collections, participation, route progress and reward activity. It is not a named visitor list, a customer CRM or routine access to individual movement histories. Following and any marketing consent remain voluntary.
What happens to the project when an event ends?
The collection window can end while collected souvenirs remain in visitors’ personal collections, subject to Emblem’s service terms. Ongoing content availability, rights, reward redemption and support are defined in the project agreement; no permanent service guarantee is implied.
What should the agreement cover, including leaving the project?
Before production, agree deliverables, approvals, payments, content licences, credit, data roles, support duration and responsibilities. It should also explain cancellation or exit, what happens to published content and access, and any retention or export arrangements. Those terms are project-specific, not assumed from this page.
Does programme support make Emblem an official institutional app?
No. The Luxembourg Passport · Youth for Peace received support through the Youth for Peace: UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Programme. That specific programme relationship does not make Emblem an official UNESCO app or imply endorsement of every passport or proposed partnership.
What does the buyer receive?
A configured Emblem experience, agreed creative and cultural content, location setup, QA, launch support and aggregate reporting appropriate to the package.
Who pays the Emblem creator?
Emblem creator commissioning and compensation are defined in the project scope. Emblem can coordinate the commission or work with approved existing creators.
Who owns the Emblem?
Rights and permitted uses are stated in the signed project agreement. Emblem does not present one ownership model as universal.
Can rewards be configured?
Yes. A partner can define an eligible reward, the quantity available and its redemption conditions, while Emblem configures the digital unlock experience.
What happens after launch?
Emblem monitors technical performance, provides agreed reporting and can scope updates, new locations or a continuing programme.
What does it cost?
The prices are shown on this page. After a short call, a written quote confirms your exact scope and price.
