About this Emblem
A giant Easter egg floats above the clouds, painted in the folk ornament of a Lithuanian margutis. The Emblem is collected at the egg sculpture by Romas Vilčiauskas, set up in Užupis in 2001 to stand in for the angel the district was waiting for. When the Angel of Užupis arrived in 2002, people had grown fond of the egg, so it moved to a small square on Pylimo Street, where it stays all year round.
